Framed works by local artists on the gallery wall at our King Street suite

The Gallery Wall

Our walls belong to Charleston’s women. Every piece for sale, no commission taken, and a new hang each season.

In short

The Gallery Wall is a rotating exhibition of Lowcountry women artists hung throughout our third-floor suite. Every work is for sale and we take no commission — the full price goes to the artist. Each month we also select one product whose proceeds support a local 501(c)(3).

Overview

A waiting room should be worth sitting in.

Medical spas have a look, and it is usually beige and forgettable — the same three canvases from the same supplier, chosen because nobody would object to them. It is a wasted opportunity in a city with as much working talent as this one.

So our walls are a gallery. Four works at a time, each by a woman living and working in the Lowcountry, changed every season. Everything is for sale and we take no commission at all; Hallie keeps the list and will put you straight in touch with the artist. It costs us nothing and it means the room is different every few months.

The same instinct drives the monthly product. One item on our shelf each month directs its proceeds to a Lowcountry 501(c)(3) — a small mechanism, but a real one, and a practice that intends to be here for decades ought to be useful to the place it sits in.

Seasonally, roughly every three months. Members are notified first and are invited to the opening of each new hang.
