Resurfacing, pigment correction, hair removal and tightening — scheduled around a city that never really leaves the sun.
We run five light-based platforms: MOXI for resurfacing, Lumecca Peak IPL for pigment and redness, DiolazeXL for hair removal, Geneo RF for tightening, and Celluma LED for calming and repair. Resurfacing and IPL are best booked October through April in Charleston.
Injectables address movement and volume. Facials address the surface. Neither touches the two things that most reliably age a face in this climate: pigment scattered across the cheeks and the loss of even, reflective texture. That is laser work, and it is the part of our menu most shaped by where we practice.
Charleston makes laser scheduling a real clinical decision. Resurfacing and IPL both demand sun avoidance before and after, which is a straightforward request in Boston and an unrealistic one here in July. So we treat pigment and texture aggressively between October and April, and we spend the summer maintaining and protecting instead.
The other consequence is caution about heat. Melasma — extremely common here — can be worsened by thermal energy, so we often stabilize it with peels and topicals before any light touches the skin. A practice that lasers every pigment complaint the same way will eventually make someone worse.

Brown spots, redness and rosacea in three to five sessions.

Laser hair removal, comfortable and safe across most skin tones.

Radio frequency tightening for mild laxity along jaw and cheek.

Medical light therapy to calm inflammation and speed repair.
Explore →Discrete brown spots and redness go to IPL. Diffuse pigment with rough texture goes to MOXI. They are not interchangeable.
IPL carries real risk on deeper skin tones. DiolazeXL does not. We decline treatments rather than gamble on pigment injury.
If so, heat is a risk. We usually stabilize with peels and topicals first, then reassess whether laser is wise at all.
Resurfacing and IPL want October through April. In a Charleston summer we protect and maintain instead.

Most laser disappointment comes from the wrong platform on the wrong skin at the wrong time of year. All three are decisions we make before you book.
MOXI laser for face and neck is one of the monthly Society Circle selections, and members receive $500 off any DiolazeXL Max hair removal package.
MOXI laser resurfacing, Lumecca Peak IPL for pigment and redness, DiolazeXL laser hair removal, Geneo radio frequency skin tightening, and Celluma LED light therapy — all at 263 King Street in downtown Charleston.
Some, with discipline. MOXI and IPL are best scheduled between October and April because they require you to stay out of direct sun before and after, which is difficult here in July. Hair removal, RF and LED can be done year-round.
Lumecca Peak IPL for discrete brown spots and redness; MOXI when pigment is diffuse and texture also needs improving. Melasma is treated cautiously and often with peels first — heat can worsen it.
MOXI feels like prickling heat and is done with topical numbing. IPL is a snap of warmth. Hair removal is a brief hot pinch with a cooling tip. RF and LED are comfortable, often relaxing.
MOXI, three to four spaced a month apart. IPL, three to five. Hair removal, six to eight per area. RF and LED are done in series and then maintained.
Some are and some are not. DiolazeXL is safe across most skin tones; IPL carries real risk on deeper skin and we will decline it rather than risk pigment injury. Your provider will tell you plainly what is and is not appropriate for you.
