Even complexion with redness cleared after Lumecca IPL in Charleston, SC

Lumecca Peak IPL

For brown spots and redness — the two things that make Charleston skin look older than it is.

In short

Lumecca Peak IPL delivers broad-spectrum light absorbed selectively by brown pigment and by blood vessels, so one treatment addresses sun spots, redness, rosacea and capillaries together. Three to five sessions, three to four weeks apart.

Overview

Color is what people actually notice.

Ask someone what makes a face look tired and they will describe color before texture — a flush across the nose, brown patches on the cheekbones, small vessels at the nostril. Those are not aging exactly; they are accumulated damage, and they respond to light better than to anything else we own.

Lumecca Peak works because light can be tuned to be absorbed by specific targets. Brown pigment takes it up and fragments, surfacing over the following week as dark flecks that flake away. Dilated vessels absorb it too, heat, and collapse. The skin around both is left alone.

What it treats

Six targets, one platform.

01

Sun spots

Discrete brown lesions from accumulated exposure. Often the fastest, most satisfying result.

02

Rosacea

Persistent central flushing calms measurably across a series.

03

Broken capillaries

Fine vessels at the nose and cheeks collapse and clear.

04

General redness

The overall ruddiness that foundation is bought to cover.

05

Freckling

Sun-induced freckling evens out — we will discuss what you want to keep.

Questions

Frequently asked.

What does Lumecca IPL treat?

{{ s0 }}

Discrete brown spots and sun damage, facial redness, rosacea, broken capillaries and general ruddiness. Light is absorbed selectively by pigment and by blood vessels, which is why one treatment can address both at once.

How is IPL different from MOXI?

{{ s1 }}

IPL targets color — brown and red. MOXI targets texture and diffuse tone. If your complaint is distinct spots or visible vessels, IPL. If it is dullness and roughness, MOXI. Many patients benefit from both.

How many IPL sessions will I need?

{{ s2 }}

Three to five, spaced three to four weeks apart. Brown spots often darken and flake off after the first session, which is a good sign; redness and rosacea improve more gradually across the series.

Is IPL safe for my skin tone?

{{ s3 }}

This is determined by your provider and your skin.

What is the downtime?

{{ s4 }}

Mild redness and warmth for a few hours, occasionally a day. Treated brown spots darken for three to seven days before flaking away — which is visible up close but easily covered.
